Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been won on hard surfaces
A revitalized the Russian player won his first title for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a torrid year, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in particular - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term trainer his previous coach.
Now working with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the past month - culminating in a closely contested competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.
This represents his first championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court since March of that year.
Victory also signifies the Russian has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 distinct events.
"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my children at once, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
His counter-punching play style and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had prompted some to question if his capacity to perform at the top level was concluded.
Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and perform positively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
He came back from a break down in the first set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
Both players swapped break points in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden professional victory, gained dominance to force a decider.
He rescued 4 early-game opportunities in a tight final set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, the winner secured the title with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
